CURRENT WORKS
Photography, like all types of Art is a continuous process of creation. It includes the mistakes, triumphs, and the mass of average. The following images are what I have been shooting in the last few weeks.
NATIONAL PARKS
Also know as “America’s Best Idea” and I totally agree. The parks are full of diversity and unique perspectives. In my pursuit to photograph ALL of the National Parks, they have drawn me into landscapes I would otherwise never have pursued. They have helped refine my craft as a photographer and offered inspiration to my life and better understanding of the world that surrounds us.
THE LIVING WILD
It is the abundance of life, in all of its diversity that makes this world such a beautiful place. As we continue to steal their habitat in the name of greed we are watching them vanish from our wild lands. It is our responsibility to find balance, to find a way for us all to coexist. As soon as the animals are gone, so are we.
OUR WILDERNESS
“I am glad I will not be young in a future without wilderness.” - Aldo Leopold. To me, wilderness is sacred and should be treated as such. A place that demands respect, holds the enchantment of the wild and the hidden mysteries of our earth.
ALASKA
A land with untouched wilderness, truly wild animals, and an expanse that will humble everyone who touches it. I spent the summer of 2021 with my family exploring and photographing all 8 National Parks. From above the Arctic Circle, to the Aleutian Islands. It was a magical time, and one of wonder.
THE MOUNTAINS
John Muir is famous for penning the phrase “the mountains are calling and I must go.” I feel so lucky that I have never had to “go” as I have lived my entire life within the embracing shadows of the mountain landscape. It is my home, the place where I still live, and the only place where my heart finds ultimate peace.
ICELAND
"Land elds og íss." A landscape full of life, diversity, and endless examples of the earths eternal process of creation.
THE DESERT
Paul Coelho once wrote “All you have to do is contemplate a simple grain of sand, and you will see in it all the marvels of creation.” All aspects of the desert will cause you to simplify your thoughts, and find your true self. From the burning heat, to the frigid cold, relentless winds, and violent storms it will all break you down, like rock to sand. It is awesome!
THE ASPEN
This has been a project spanning over 20 years. My favorite place within a mountain landscape is in company of the aspen tree. It is my favorite tree who’s beauty spans across all seasons of the year.
